| A notary commission is a valuable asset in the business world. Many notaries use their commission as a convenience for their managers or supervisors. Some notaries are self employed and notarize various types of documents for their own clients. The difficulty for most notaries is to find or locate the individual clients and then hope that they do the notarization correctly.
I have a better idea. I suggest to you that you become a “Certified Mobile Notary”. The American Notary Institute provides training to enable you to be comfortable and confident when notarizing loan documents.
The
Internet is currently being used by some of the largest lenders in the world. The application and approval process is completed on the Internet. However, the loan documents must be notarized before the process can be completed and the documents can be recorded at the county recorder’s
office.
Loan documents can be intimating and troublesome unless you have been properly trained. I am the President of the American Notary Institute and a licensed California attorney. I have severed as the General Council for a California lender, an escrow company, and real estate brokerage. I also am the owner of a successful real estate school. I know and am able to teach to you the lending practices and documents used by lenders for both convention and government loans. I know the traps and pitfalls of the mobile notary business.
Many mobile notaries receive between $50 and $150 for each “sign up” of a borrower for a loan. The ‘sign up” of the loan documents usually requires 30 to 60 minutes. Doing several of these can add up to significant money.
Don’t try to loan documents with special training. Come to this great one day class and become a Certified Mobile Notary. You will learn, among other things, the following:
- Signing procedures
- Proper presentation of documents to the borrow to avoid confusion
- Understand standard loan documents and be able to explain the documents to your clients
- Understand the many variations of standard
documents
- How to market your services to lenders and the general
public
